While my husband Ted does a very good job of promoting the cookbooks I have written to our customers, just in case you are not familiar with them, here they are. (By the way, my books are for sale, next door to the pub – and online – in the Black Dog Pantry our fine food shop that specializes in wonderful cheeses, bread, pasta, olive oil and delightful accompaniments to cheese. Drop by for a sample!)
Originally entitled Rustic Italian Cooking and first published in 1998 by Robert Rose Pub., in 2008 this book was renamed 125 Best Italian Recipes. This was my first book and it is an homage to the foods and cooking styles of Italy, my favourite culinary destination.
The Global Grill was originally published in 1999 and, again, renamed in 2007 as 100 Best Grilling Recipes, also published by Robert Rose Publishing. This international collection of grilling recipes was also the source for a dinner we hosted at the Black Dog during the first Taste of Huron event.
Along with Chef Ted Reader, in 1999 I co-authored The Sticks & Stones Cookbook: the Art of Grilling on Plank, Vine & Stone (Macmillan Canada). This innovative book won a Cuisine Canada Silver Award. That same year, I co-authored another book, this time with renowned Canadian wine writer Tony Aspler. Entitled The Wine Lover Cooks (Macmillan Canada) the focus of this book was to choose the wine, then the food to go with.
